Elizbar Eristavi Energy Training Center existing under the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) made a presentation on the results of the Project “Determining the Level of Awareness on the Issues of Regulation in the Electricity, Natural Gas and Water Supply Sectors and Carrying Out Needs Assessment”. The Project partner is Friedrich Ebert Stiftung.
The goal of the project “Determining the Level of Awareness on the Issues of Regulation in the Electricity, Natural Gas and Water Supply Sectors and Carrying Out Needs Assessment” is to assess the needs in the energy and water supply sectors, raise the level of awareness in terms of regulation, highlight the specific needs of different target audience, raise awareness in this direction, reveal mechanisms needed to improve professional qualifications. The research within the project was conducted in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi and Mtskheta.
The implementation of the project created an effective and sustainable opportunity to identify the main trends, problems and needs in the energy and water supply sectors, on the basis of which a recommendatory action plan of solutions and mechanisms to increase the level of awareness was developed.
The purpose of the Elizbar Eristavi Energy Training Center existing under the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission is to raise public awareness of ongoing issues in the electricity, natural gas and water supply sectors, to implement special training courses/programs for the professional development and qualification improvement of employees and other stakeholders in the mentioned sectors, to determine the priority directions of activities, to exchange experience and knowledge among stakeholders, to conduct research, to prepare scientific-educational projects, to create an information base and organize thematic conferences. At the moment, various training courses are being held at the Center.
