The purpose of the project

  • Informing school students about energy issues and raising awareness in the following matters: renewable energies and energy efficiency.
  • Field events at energy facilities, thematic works preparation, and summer school organization.

The project was implemented with the participation of students from various public schools of Mtskheta municipality. More than 100 students were involved in the activities carried out within the project.

The purpose of the project

  • Needs’ assessment in the energy and water supply sectors - to identify the level of awareness in terms of regulation, the specific needs of different target audiences and to identify effective mechanisms for raising awareness and deepening professional qualifications in this direction;
  • Developing a plan for the activities to be implemented for the next phase of the project in accordance with the findings and needs identified as a result of the research;

  • The capital Tbilisi, the self-governing city of Kutaisi, the self-governing city of Batumi and Mtskheta municipality.
  • The number of target audience that will participate in the project is determined by 350-400 participants.

Target audience

Employees of energy and water supply enterprises, new employees of the Regulatory Commission, experts working on energy issues and representatives of the academic circles (including young scientists), media representatives, investors, interested public organizations and consumer groups of the co-operatives of the residential buildings, Members of executive and representative bodies of self-government, organizations working on environmental protection issues, international and donor organizations interested in energy, water supply and regulatory issues.

The purpose of the project

  • Increasing the level of awareness of students and young people of the regions in the issues of drinking water and water as a source of energy;
  • To increase interest of students-youth of the target municipalities in the mentioned topics, to strengthen the idea of care/protection of the country's water resources on their part and to promote the establishment of sustainable mechanisms to increase involvement.

Discussing current reforms in the electricity sector, identifying ways to solve related challenges and promoting regional cooperation; Introduction of alternative mechanisms for the resolution of investment disputes in the energy sector to the general public, discussion of practices and discussions on current issues.

Policy-making institutions, international organizations, investors, business associations, practicing lawyers. Representatives of a number of countries participated in the conference, including: Georgia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Germany, Belgium, Austria, China, Hungary, Poland

Product/Result

As a result of the Conference, potential investors received information on the possibilities of implementing energy projects; Foreign traders established the necessary contacts for the import-export of electricity, which will help to establish Georgia as a hub of electricity trade; The relationship between the Georgian energy exchange and other energy exchanges has moved to a new stage; State structures and companies received information about relations with investors in the energy sector and the implementation of a successful arbitration strategy, which will help to avoid investment disputes in the energy sector and strengthen the country's economy.

  • Increasing awareness on pivotal topics: renewable energies, energy efficiency, and water supply tariffs.
