The Final Meeting Was Held Within the Project “The Path of Electricity From Production To Its Consumption”

The Chairman of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC), Davit Narmania, has awarded certificates to the final participants of Energy Training Center Project "The Path of Electricity From Production To Its Consumption”. The conclusive event of the project was held at the Green Engineering Center. The students and teachers of Mtskheta municipality schools participating in the project, representatives of the Mtskheta municipality Educational Resource Center, GNERC, Energy Training Center and Mtskheta-Mtianeti State Representative, Gocha Kavtaradze have attended the event.

The project “The Path of Electricity from Production to Its Consumption” has been carried out during four months with the initiative of the Energy Training Center and the support of GNERC. Students from public schools of the villages of Mtskheta municipality Mukhrani, Akhaldaba, Tserovani and the city of Mtskheta were involved.

 “GNERC is interested in and promotes raising the level of knowledge and awareness of schoolchildren in energy issues. We  plan to implement the project "The Path of Electricity From Production To Its Consumption" in other regions of Georgia as well“, said Davit Narmania during the closing meeting with the school students.

The project "The Path of Electricity From Production To Its Consumption" took place in several stages, participating schoolchildren were trained on the complete cycle of electricity production, 15 winning students were selected according to their performed artworks. Within the Project's summer school framework, the winning students have visited various key energy facilities. During the final meeting at the Green Engineering Center, they were trained on the importance of renewable energy and its application technologies.

As part of the project, 15 winning students were provided with personal and portable computers.
