Energy Training Center, established by GNERC, launches new project for school students – “The Path of Electricity From Production To Its Consumption”

A new educational project titled “The Path of Electricity from Production to its Consumption” is being launched for school students through the initiative and coordination of the Energy Training Center, established by the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC). The project is intended to inform students about the full cycle of electricity—from production to consumption—and to raise their awareness of renewable energy and Georgia’s green energy potential.

A launch event was held at the Ilia Chavchavadze House-Museum in Kvareli, attended by more than 100 students from five public schools. Representatives of the Energy Training Center presented the project’s goals and participation terms. As part of the project, students will receive training and present their thematic works at an exhibition. Winning students will be awarded valuable prizes and invited to participate in a summer school. The project is supported by its partner, Corporation Kindzmarauli.

“The Path of Electricity from Production to its Consumption” was first implemented in 2024 in Mtskheta Municipality, with the participation of nearly 100 students from five public schools. Fifteen winning students received portable and personal computers as prizes. During the summer school, they visited various energy facilities to explore their operational principles on-site.

GNERC and the Energy Training Center remain committed to enhancing students’ knowledge on energy-related topics, increasing awareness of renewable energy and energy efficiency, and fostering greater interest in energy sector careers.
