Project name: The Path of Electricity From Production To Its Consumption

The purpose of the project

  • Informing school students about energy issues and raising awareness in the following matters: renewable energies and energy efficiency.
  • Field events at energy facilities, thematic works preparation, and summer school organization.

 

Area of project implementation and number of target audience:

The project will implement with the participation of students from various public schools of Telavi and Kvareli municipality. More than 100 students will involve in the activities carried out within the project.

Project Objective: 

  • Raising awareness among schoolchildren in different regions of Georgia on issues of drinking water, environment, indoor air pollution and disaster risk reduction;
  • Promoting the development of mechanisms to increase youth involvement in environmental issues, as well as providing information on the need for rational use and protection of water resources.

 

Project implementation area and target audience:  

The project involves 650 students from forty schools in Batumi, Rustavi, Kutaisi and Poti, as well as 50 students from Kutaisi and Batumi State Universities. Within the framework of the project, trainings and public lectures will be held for students and young people.

The purpose of the project

The project seeks to promote knowledge exchange by drawing upon the regulatory experiences of Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia in managing utility services for Georgia. Through a comprehensive study and analysis of the regulatory framework, and guided by the findings, the initiative aims to incorporate the best practices observed in the Visegrad countries. This, in turn, is intended to contribute to the strengthening of local sector capacities in Georgia.

 

The project's area of implementation and its intended target audience

The project implementation area encompasses the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region of Georgia. The target audience includes representatives of regulated companies in the energy and water supply sector, employees of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC), decision-makers from public agencies overseeing energy sector matters, market and trade policies, experts engaged in the regulation of utility services, scientists and young researchers, self-government representatives of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, and members of the media. The total number of the target audience is 300.

The purpose of the project

Examine and analyze the current institutional, infrastructural, legislative, human resource, and technological landscape within the country, with a specific focus on the perspective of energy security. Following this assessment, formulate Georgia's energy security strategy by drawing upon insights derived from the conducted analysis.

The project implementation area encompasses Georgia. The target audience comprises key stakeholders, including decision-makers in the energy sector, experts in market and trade policy, stakeholders associated with the Georgian Energy Exchange, non-profit organizations committed to supporting the energy sector, representatives from diverse energy-related platforms, members of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission, as well as potential international investors with an interest in the energy sector, among others.
