Information meetings were held in the framework of the ongoing project at the Energy Training Center with the support of UNICEF

With the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the Elizbar Eristavi Energy Training Center operating under the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission held information meetings in 8 municipalities of Georgia within the framework of the project - "Raising awareness of the students and youth of the regions about the quality of drinking water and water resources". The participants of the meeting were informed about the goals, objectives and planned activities of the project, as well as the donor and applicant organization of the project. Directors of the educational resource center and schools participated in the information meetings. Meetings were held in the city of Batumi, in Kutaisi, in the municipalities of Aspindza, Dedoplistskaro, Tetritskaro, Kazbegi, Khashuri and Gardabani.

The goal of the project "Raising the awareness of the students and youth of the regions about the quality of drinking water and water resources" is to raise the level of awareness of the students and youth of the regions in the issues of drinking water quality and water as an energy source, to interest the students and youth in the target municipalities in the topics of energy efficiency and energy saving, to care for water resources and strengthening the idea of protection, to promote the establishment of sustainable mechanisms to increase the involvement of young people. As a result of the initiative, more than 300 young people will receive information about the quality and resources of drinking water. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to organize public lectures on strengthening the role of women in the energy sector and energy  expert as a profession of the future.

About the Training Center: The goal of the Elizbar Eristavi Energy Training Center operating under the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission is to raise public awareness of current issues in the electricity, natural gas and water supply sectors, to implement special training courses/programs for professional development and qualification improvement, to determine the priority directions of activities, to exchange experience and knowledge between interested parties, to conduct research, to prepare scientific and educational projects.
