Energy Training Center Existing with GNERC is Launching A New Project for Schoolchildren

The Elizbar Eristavi Energy Training Center existing with the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) is starting to implement a new project for schoolchildren - "The Path of Electricity from Production to Its Consumption". Public school students of Mtskheta and villages of Mtskheta municipality - Mukhrani, Akhaldaba, Tsreovani will be involved in the project.

Regarding the launching of the project, the first meeting was held in GNERC, which was attended by the heads of Mtskheta Educational Resource Center and public schools participating in the Project and the Energy Training Center representatives. The meeting was opened by the GNERC Chairman, Davit Narmania.

"One of the priorities of the Energy Training Center is to permanently increase the level of knowledge of schoolchildren regarding energy issues. It is especially important that the students are provided with the correct information on production and consumption of electricity, on energy potential of our country, to get acquainted with the energy policy of Georgia. In this direction, the Center has implemented a number of projects since its establishment. Currently, we are launching a completely new project for students of Mtskheta and villages of Mtskheta municipality. 5 public schools will be involved in the project at this stage. In the next stage, within the framework of the mentioned project, we plan to include schools of other cities and regions," - said Davit Narmania.

The goal of the project "The Path of Electricity from Production to Its Consumption" is to inform schoolchildren on the complete cycle of electricity production to its consumption, raise their awareness on renewable energies, the green energy potential of Georgia.

Within the framework of the project, conducting trainings on electricity, visit of participants to energy facilities, organizing an exhibition of thematic compositions is planned. A one-week summer school will be organized by the Energy Training Center for the project winner students.
